Hacking At Random

Kaum ist das Chaos Camp des CCC vorbei (September 2007 war doch grad erst gestern oder?), schon ist es wieder an der Zeit für die Holländer zu Campen.

In 1989 a great tradition started with GHP (Galactic Hacker Party), which continued four years later in 1993 with HEU (Hacking at the End of the Universe), HIP (Hacking In Progress) in 1997, HAL (Hacking At large) in 2001 and finally WTH (What The Hack) in 2005. We want to continue this tradition in 2009 with another great outdoor hacker event.

The name is HAR: Hacking At Random 2009.

Man weiß zwar noch nicht, ob das auch wirklich in Holland oder vielleicht doch in Deutschland (besseres politisches Klima ... man mags kaum glauben) statt finden wird - dass es aber großartig wird ist klar.

Man wird sich ja dort sehen - und dieses Mal gibt's keine Ausreden oder so.

Ja, so schlimm schon. Jedenfalls waren das die Worte von Rob auf der What The Hack/Rain vor 3 Jahren. Die haben so dermaßen viele Steine von lokaler und übergeordneter Stelle in die Beine geschmissen bekommen, dass es echt nur noch mit wirklich viel Geld zu regeln war. Seine Ansage zu dem Thema war, dass sie sich nun echt überlegen, das einfach in Deutschland zu machen - Holland hätte in den letzten Jahren einen zu heftigen Ruck in Richtung Konservativismus gemacht.

Nach http://rop.gonggri.jp/?p=81 und dem aktuellen Stand von http://har2009.org/ sieht es aber eher so aus als ob sogar in Frage steht, <em>ob</em> es stattfindet. Zwar gibt es einige Enthusiasten die etwas auf die Beine stellen wollen, aber es ist wohl noch nicht klar ob sie es auch schaffen. Im Moment laeuft z.B. gerade ein Design-Wettbewerb fuer die Website...

Es wird auch immer deutlicher, dass es wirklich in Deutschland statt finden wird. Muss man sich mal vorstellen: in Holland gibt es sogar ein Gesetz, dass es den Veranstaltern verbietet, den Gästen eine verschlüsselte vpn-Verbindung nach draußen zur Nutzung an zu bieten.
Dass da ein Design-Wettbewerb läut, kann eigentlich auch niht schlecht sein. Die wollen das Promo-Material schon mal fertig haben. Flyer, Website, Plakate, Armbändchen, Aufkleber, ... alles im selben Stil mit Wiedererkennungswert.
