Softwarepatente sind erstmal vom Tisch
Heute hat dann das EU Parlament dem komödiantischen Trauerspiel um die Implementierung eines nach US-Vorbild zusammengeschusterten Patentwesens ein Ende gesetzt und dem EU Rat damit auch gleich noch mitgeteilt was denn nun soüberhaupt nicht geht.Nachdem in den letzten zwei Jahren der EU Rat in Ignoranz bzw. unter Brüskierung des EU Parlamentes und an allen nationalen Vorgaben vorbei ein Patentrichtlinie durchdrücken wollte, die unter anderem auch mal schnell Software als solches, Geschäftsmodelle, mathematische Algorithmen und überhaupt Verfahren ohne expliziten Bezug auf eine Naturkraft patentfähig machen sollte, haben sich die Parlamentarier des EU Parlamentes in erstaunlicher geschlossenheit für einen kompletten Stop des Gesamtverfahrens ausgesprochen.
Die Ratsrichtlinie ist damit erstmal vom Tisch und es muss über einen Neuanfang der ganzen Sache debattiert werden.
Dies ist ein guter Tag für die mittelständische Wirtschaft und die freien Softwareprogrammierer sowie die Programmierer freier Software insgesamt.
