Heut saß ich an einem Aldi-Rechner, den ich einrichten sollte. Es handelt sich um das Medion-Gerät, welches Aldi-Nord vor einigen Tagen unters Fußvolk streute.Der Eigner hat jedoch keine Form von Festnetzanschluss oder gar DSL zu Hause. Also losgelaufen und einen BASE-Vertrag über Internetflatrate (incl. Telefonie ins Festnetz und ePlus-Intern) abgeschlossen. Da das Notebook nur noch einen PCMCIA-Anschluss hat, an dem die mitgelieferte DVB-T - Karte betrieben werden soll, wurde es also ein USB-Modem fürs Funknetz. Eben das Huawei E220. Ein wirklich nettes Gerät - in Form und Farbgebung einer Monatsbinde nachempfunden - welches auch gleich als Wechseldatenträger erkannt wurde, sich selbst installierte und instantan die Netzverfügbarkeit anzeigte. Nur eben Connect ging nicht.

Nun soll ja bob.askja.de als einer von mehreren Rechnern neue Hardware bekommen. Die alte ist eben doch schon etwas aged.Es soll rein: Tyan Moard h1000s, 4GB ECC-RAM, ein Opteron 1214 und ein 2ware SATA-Controller mit 6 bis 8 Platten (9550SX-8LP).
Tja, und mit letzterem gibts dann eben ein Problem - jedenfalls zusammen mit dem Board.

Seit einiger Zeit hab ich so Tagträume, in denen ein schwarzer Klotz in irgend einer sonnigen Wüste steht und Strom herstellt. Hört sich erstmal wie eine Sammlung von Solarzellen an, denkt sich aber anders. Schafft man es, mit sich selbst organisierenden kleinsten Einheiten, einen Körper zu erzeugen, der Licht komplett absorbiert und entsprechend in eine andere Energieform (am besten direkt elektrische Energie) umzuwandeln, so hat man eine sehr effiziente Solaranlage, die sich bei Bedarf sogar noch selbst erweitert.

Nachdem ich nun längere Zeit versuchte, per LINUX mit dem dort verfügbaren HFS+-Treiber die Platten mit den Daten des Kongresses auf ein NTFS-System zu kopieren und an den ausschließlich verfügbaren USB1.1-Ports meines Rechners scheiterte (ich wollte nicht einen Tag auf 160GB warten) hab ich mir eine Software namens Mac-Drive als Trial gezogen. Das hört sich erstmal dämlich an, ist aber sinnvoll, wenn das gerade autonom bootende System eine benötigte Passphrase von einem befreundeten System aus dem Netz bekommt. N93 - ein Telefon oder so
Nun hab ich also auch so ein Spielzeug mit richtiger, echter Kamera dran. Es macht wirklich Spaß, damit zu arbeiten und das Teil zu erkunden. Insgesamt macht das Gerät einen bei Nokia zu erwartend guten Eindruck der Verarbeitung. Ich bin also soweit erstmal zufrieden.Doch natürlich, wenn es sich um ein Gerät der Version 1.0 handelt, sind da noch einige kleinere Macken. Solche möchte ich mal aufschreiben, damt ich auf sowas beim nächsten Mal achte.

Ich hatte das Problem, dass mein OKI c5540-MFC beharrlich meinte, es läge ein Problem mit dem Tonersensor vor "Fehler 543: K Tonersensor". Nachdem ich die vorherige Kartusche wieder eingebaut hatte (beides keine Starterkartuschen) blieb es bei diesem Fehler.

Ich erhielt auf zwei Platten, jede 160GB groß, einige Videodaten des letzten Kongresses. Da die Videos von zwei Vortragenden auf einer DVD enthalten sein sollten, weil die beiden Vorträge zusammen gehörten, brauchte ich diese Daten.Soweit kein Problem - nur waren die Platten mal schnell mit nem MacOS-X formatiert, enthielten also ein HFS+ Dateisystem. Windows kann damit so pur erstmal nix anfangen und Software wollte mich mir nicht kaufen für die beiden Platten.
Doch ich hab ja da noch ein Linux laufen.
